Driven life

“the whole word, for the whole people, with the whole heart, through the whole life”

“Dancing In The Moonlight”

Suddenly a song passed by in my mind. Dancing in The Moonlight, that is the title of that song. In my opinion this song shouts about peace. Most of people dream about living in peace and love, but at the other side we still hear about blasting, robbery, murdering, and suicide. Please don’t color this world with blood. Lets color this world with love and peace.

We get it on most every night
when that moon is big and bright
its a supernatural delight
everybodys dancing in the moonlight

we get
everybody here is out of sight
they dont bark and they dont bite
they keep things loose they keep it tight
everybodys dancing in the moonlight

dancing in the moonlight
everybodys feeling warm and bright
its such a fine and natural sight
everybodys dancing in the moonlight

we like our fun and we never fight
you cant dance and stay uptight
its a supernatural delight
everybody was dancing in the moonlight

dancing in the moonlight
everybodys feeling warm and bright
its such a fine and natural sight
everybodys dancing in the moonlight

we get in on most every night
and when that moon is big and bright
its a supernatural delight
everybodys dancing in the moonlight

dancing in the moonlight
everybodys feeling warm and bright
its such a fine and natural sight
everybodys dancing in the moonlight

Windows Live Writer

imageWindows Live Writer is an offline blog editor. This is a freeware so you can download it without charged. You can write your blog offline and save it in your notebook before publish it when you are online. The really interesting part is that, while geared for Windows Live Spaces users, Live Writer works with blog CMSs like WordPress, Movable Type, LiveJournal and Blogger. Just install it into your notebook and you can write your blog any where and any time. Windows Live writer is equiped with many features which compatible with many blog CMSs.

These are a few features for your consideration :

  • The WYSIWYG editor is amazingly intuitive and simple to use.
  • Advanced text formatting features, such as headings and tables, are included in the WYSIWYG editor.
  • Extensible via plugins (it reminds me of WordPress in that regard)
  • Auto Save (this feature needs no explanation)
  • Choice between HTML/XHTML on a per blog basis. This is good if you’re a stickler for clean and well formed code.
  • Supports FTP upload. One thing that bothered me in the previous version was that images and files could only be uploaded via the blog’s XMLRPC file (not good if you plan to store your files in a folder outside of the blog). This time around, they got it right — even better that right because the FTP set up was smooth and extremely intuitive.
  • Supports date modification, which means you can set a post to publish in the future (or the past if you so choose).
  • Tag support with a variety of providers, including custom providers.
  • Advanced image insertion that supports thumbnails and lets you add some basic styles, such as drop shadow and photo style borders, to your images. You can even apply some more advanced image styling such as black & white conversion, sepia tone, as well as others.
  • Video insertion which will come in handy if you’re a vlogger.
  • Customizable ping list with trackback support
  • In line spell checking
  • Multiple writing views including layouts that mimic your blog and a full in software preview of the entry as it would appear on the blog.
  • Quick switching between views by using their shortcut keys.

Limbless

Suddenly I shocked out to a man that I met at a junction last morning. I didn’t realize that he is limbless before he passed by my car. He can walk by a pair of stick which help him footing on. In Indonesia there is no enough attention for disabled-people. I wish I can do something.

How to Study

image How to Study, another book by Ron Fry. I bought this book at a bookstore in my town two days ago. This book was tempting my eyes when I passed its shelf. Suddenly I remembered when I was a freshman and confirmed my pace to struggle for my bachelor degree. Eight years ago I stayed at dorm with my seven new friends. They are very diligent especially in reading many thick weight lecture books. I used to amaze to their willingness in reading those books. Their enthusiasm in learning stimulated my spirit to study more. They had their own special method in how to “chew” those books in a short time so they could be well prepared in facing the examinations. One of my friend, Anugrah Suryanto, comes from Central Java, filled his day in dorm by making notes and review lecture materials. The other one, Eko, who comes from East Java always pay a good attention in our class. Eko also had good marks even though he didn’t make many notes when he prepared his examination. I learned much from what they did. I learned about how to study smarter, not harder.

When I opened and read this book, my mind flew away to a few years ago when I learned how to study harder before I knew how to study smarter. This book refresh my mind about doing smarter than harder. This book explains about

  1. How to start out right
  2. How to organize your studying
  3. How to read and remember
  4. How to organize your time
  5. How to excel in class
  6. How to conduct your research
  7. How to write terrific papers
  8. How to study for tests

Doing smarter is pointing to how to utilize your resources (time, energy, spirit, etc) efficiently and effectively. A smarter way can give you a better result with the appropriate resources. That’s why most people believe that a good preparation can earn maximum result. Thanks to God that I’ve been given a chance to continue my study after three years working. I’m going to continue my study this September. I hope it can increase my competence as a professional in telecommunication field. Read the book and I believe it is valuable for you.

brievenbus

image“Brievenbus”, a word which printed on that orange-color box. I saw that box at a post office in  Surabaya. I couldn’t guess how old is it. I guessed that box was made in 1930′s. When I searched “brievenbus” at google I found this word at dutch websites. I tried the translation feature at google and found that “brievenbus” in dutch is translated as “letterbox” in english. Indonesia used to be a dominion of Dutch 64 years ago. There are many Dutch inheritance spreaded all around Indonesia as history witness included this brievenbus. When I see a hystorical stuff, I imagine a journey with a time machine to the year of that stuff still used. Wow… amazing..
